The Esports Federation of Nigeria is the officially recognized national governing body for competitive gaming and esports in Nigeria. Established to professionalize, regulate, and grow the esports ecosystem, EFN serves as the central organization responsible for developing esports as a legitimate sport and career pathway for Nigerian youth.

Who We Are
EFN was created to bring structure, professionalism, and national representation to the rapidly growing esports scene in Nigeria. We work with stakeholders including government bodies, universities, schools, gaming clubs, athletes, and industry partners to formalize esports development in the country. Key focus areas include:
Talent identification and development
National championships and competitive pathways
International representation for Team Nigeria
Integration of esports into educational institutions
Capacity building through training, academies, and certifications
Creating opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and support staff

Leadership
The Federation is led by Yahaya Maikori, President of the Esports Federation of Nigeria — an entertainment attorney and executive with deep interests in gaming, sports, and media.
What We Do
Organize national esports championships and qualifiers
Manage Nigeria’s participation in international esports events
Develop structured programs for schools and universities
Provide training and certification (e.g., FIFAe Referee Certification)
Build a national database of players, teams, and organizations
Advocate for the recognition and growth of esports in Nigeria
